SATA INTERFACE

The SATA interface, which stands for Serial ATA, was developed in 2003. It has already taken over as the primary interface for desktop and server hard drives and is now making its way into the embedded OEM flash storage market. With sustained read and write performance >500MB/sec on the SATA III interface products, it will meet almost every OEM’s performance needs.

Cactus Technologies offers a variety of products based on the SATA interface. For embedded applications, the CFast and mSATA form factor are most popular. The mSATA interface has a smaller physical size than the SATA SSD or Slim SATA products. The CFast cards support the SATA interface with a unique connector as specified by the CompactFlash Association. There are many form factors in both Industrial and Commercial Grade as seen below.
