SATA INTERFACE

The SATA interface, which stands for Serial ATA, was developed in 2003. It has already taken over as the primary interface for desktop and server hard drives and is now entering the embedded OEM flash storage market. With sustained read and write performance >500MB/sec on the SATA III interface products, it will meet almost every OEM’s performance needs.

Cactus Technologies offers a variety of products based on the SATA interface. The CFast and mSATA form factor are the most popular for embedded applications. The mSATA interface has a smaller physical size than the SATA SSD products. The CFast cards support the SATA interface with a unique connector, as the CompactFlash Association specifies. Many form factors exist in both Industrial and Industrial MLC, as seen below.
